Happy Monday! I’m slowly starting to upload and edit all of my pictures from my Euro trip 2016. There are tons of images to go through, but they all put a smile on my face because looking back on them brings good memories 🙂
Today, I’m sharing where we went, the things we saw…and ate 😛
I will be writing a blog post for each country I visited separately. Beginning with Paris of course, because that is the first place we landed. My sister, my friend Cassandra and myself stayed in a modern Airbnb in Paris. Although, I did not take pictures of our place, it was conveniently located in Saint-Germain area which, if I do say so myself, is a pretty central location if you’re looking to stay and do the main Parisian attractions.
Our first pit stop right when we landed was to grab lunch ASAP – we were starved. I decided to check out what the hype was all about at Cafe de Flore. Upon arrival, it was packed, all the seating outside is always taken. Although, we thankfully managed to find a spot on their terrace. Their coffee was very good…the food, not so much. Very blan tasting and lacking flavour, I didn’t enjoy my omelette. My sister’s cappuccino on the other hand was the best one I had tasted in Paris, I highly recommend it if you are a coffee lover. This cute little spot is more of a tourist trap/attraction. Another thing you need to know about Paris: waiters have no patience! I suggest knowing before speaking or else they will walk away. Good luck trying to get their attention afterwards…it may take some time. Cafe de Flore is a little over priced for what you get BUT if you want to see what the hype is all about a.k.a why Kylie Jenner and Gigi Hadid always grab a bite here, then be my guest. If you don’t, no worries, you aren’t missing out on much.
My sister and I truly enjoyed this magical little garden area in Paris – The Tuileries Garden. Located between the Louvre museum and the Place de la Concorde in the 1st arrondissement of Paris. I enjoyed walking around this area the most. It’s very big and has wide open spaces with beautiful scenic views. May I also add that the lighting is perfect!
These macarons will always have a soft spot in my heart. They are from the famous Laduree shop. There are several locations in Paris. Their packaging is on point and their macarons taste heavenly, every time I know that someone is visiting Paris, I always ask them to bring me a box back haha
I obviously had to grab a coffee at the famous Cafe Kitsune and boy am I glad that I did. This place specializes in matcha lattes…you know what that means, I obviously had to get one! This place is adorable, I wouldn’t mind getting my daily caffeine fix from here.
Behold, the holy grail of falafels…I had a love affair with this thing, I don’t think I will ever be able to have another falafel that will be on this falafel level. L’as du Fallafel hands down, has THE BEST FALAFELS! Located in the Jewish town- which I also fell in love with. Everyone must put this on their to-do list, you’ll thank me later 😛
All in all, Paris reminded me so much of the Old Port here in Montreal. It felt like home and didn’t really hit me that I was actually in Paris. The shopping is AMAZING and so are their bakery shops. What I would do for their buttery croissants right now…
Stay tuned for my next travel post which will be : Positano!
